Thursday at Sauk Valley Community College several hundred persons had the chance to see what job prospects exist in the Sauk Valley. The College held their annual Job’s Fair.
Business Services Coordinator Anita Carney said they had a larger turn out, not only in job seekers, but, in potential employers than last year.
Carney said job fairs have changed greatly these days. She said several companies only take online applications and some helped potential employees use their laptops to fill out online applications.
She also pointed out many used small gifts and items to entice job seekers to come to their table. Carney said the nursing homes gave out the best when it came to candy.
Carney said from the companies she spoke to, everyone seemed pleased with the turn out of college students and folks from the area who came by.
