On Monday, firefighters from Dixon Rural and Dixon City “B” Shift played a game of Jenga at the Dixon Rural Fire Station. But, it was no ordinary game of Jenga.

The firefighters used a piece of extrication equipment to play the game using 4” x 4” x 16” pieces of lumber.

The firefighters used the game as training at being precise while using the tool as well as using it at different angles.

Keep in mind this piece of machinery weighs 45 pounds and has a spreading force of approximately 10,000 pound force(LBF) and pulling force of approximately 9,000 pound force(LBF).

Three teams of three firefighters made a competition out of it. The results were 1st place – FF Dahlstrom, FF Arnould, and Lt. Arjes, 2nd place – FF Schumacher, FF Palacz, and DC Callison, 3rd place – FF Markel, Capt. Mercer, and Capt. Buskohl
