Dixon's Quintana and Schielein Qualify for State in Wrestling
Local Wrestlers are headed to State

Dixon's Quintana takes 3rd, Sterling's Garcia finishes 4th

In Boys Wrestling, several area wrestlers qualified for the IHSA State Individual Tournament to be held in Champaign next weekend.

In Class 2A- Dixon's Sebastian Quintana finished 3rd at 160. Quintana will join teammate Clint Schielein, who took 4th at 182, at the State Meet next weekend.

Sterling's Isaiah Fiueroa (4th-138) and Turner Garica (4th-160) will also be wrestling at State. Rock Falls will send Adam Meenen to State after he took 4th place at 132 pounds.

In Class 1A- Several wrestlers from Northern Illinois took 1st place at the Oregon Sectional.

Jared Van Vleet- Stillman Valley 1st- 132

Garrett Passmore- Erie 1st- 160

Rahveon Valentine- LeWin 1st- 170

Jonah Pearson- Byron 1st- 182

Drake Jennings- Stillman Valley 1st- 195

Maverik McPeek- Dakota 1st- 220

Ian Kuehl- LeWin 1st- 285

Sterling Newman had two wrestlers finish 2nd- Kyle Tunik at 120 and Brody Ivey at 145.

Oregon's Jacob Milliman took 2nd at 113.

The IHSA State Wrestling Tournament will begin on Thursday in Champaign.
