All good things must come to an end. Saying thank you and farewell was in order at the Lee County Board meeting Wednesday evening.
Two members of the Lee County Government were at their final meeting as they both have retired. Tim Bivins was a police officer from 1974-1986. From 1986-2006 he served as the Lee County Sheriff. In 2006, he was the State Senator for over 10 years.
For the past couple of years he served on the board until Wednesday. Fellow Board member Jim Schielein said you could not find a more honorable man than Tim Bivins.
The meeting also marked the end of Kevin Lalley as the Lee County Emergency Management Director. Lalley thanked everyone for their support. He mentioned the bumps along the way. This including Covid and the Tornado near Sublette. However, he said it was an honor to serve the county.
