Since 1966, people have come to Polo towards the end of June for the annual Polo Town and Country Days.
This weekend the Sauk Valley tradition returns. Hundreds, if not thousands of people will come to enjoy the ride, take in the music and enjoy the festival. Vice President and Events Coordinator Joey Kochsmeier said he is hopeful the weather will cooperate.
Kochsmeier said people enjoy many of the traditional attractions. Some being the Little Miss and Mister contest, volleyball tournament and the grand parade on Sunday. The festival always starts with a bang with the fireworks display Thursday night.
New this year will be the Amateur Professional style wrestling on Saturday.
Kochsmeier stated it is not uncommon to hear people talk about coming to the Polo Town and Country Days when they were kids. Now they are taking their kids or grand kids.
