In a very short time, the classrooms and hallways of Dixon Schools will hear the sound of students. On Wednesday August 13, the first day of school for the 2025-2026 school year begins.
Superintendent Margo Empen said recently, if you have not registered your student yet, you need to do so. Students must be registered by August 1.
Empen also wanted to remind the community that beginning on August 13 there will be kids, walking, riding their bikes or taking busses to school. You are asked to be aware of what is going on.
The first day of school, many of the teachers do what is known as Getting to Know You Exercises. This is where the students meet their teachers, fellow classmates, and their classrooms. It is also a time to find out where things are at in your new school.
While classes begin on August 13, for Kindergarten, classes do not begin until Thursday, August 14.
