Oregon Council in Discussion Concerning How People Use and Store Their Campers and Trailers

Oregon is a community that encourages people to come and bring their campers, boats and recreational vehicles.  Many people who live in Oregon has one or more of these same types of vehicles.

However, the way people park and use, or lack thereof, those vehicles in Oregon was the subject of a discussion during the most recent Oregon City Council meeting.

City Manager Darin DeHaan sought the council’s thoughts on dealing with campers and the like in Oregon.  He said the city had ordinances before.  However, since Oregon is a recreational city, these ordinances had gotten grayer and grayer.

DeHaan said one of the complaints he has gotten are people that use a camper as a primary residence.  He said the city did not have a problem with someone visiting and staying in the camper.

He went on to say people have complained saying the camper or trailer is parked in one area and it has weeds and grass growing around it.  The matter may be discussed further at the next City Council meeting.
