The Sterling Police and the Fire Department will be busy with community outreach events.
This Friday in Sterling is Hot Dog Day. A time to meet organizations and businesses in Sterling, and get a hotdog or more. Tuesday, August 5 is the National Night Out Event. This a chance for the community to come together and meet their local law enforcement. Chief Alex Chavira says it is going to be a great time.
The Sterling Fire Department will also participate in the Hot Dog Day and the National Night Out. The Fire Department will have a special event of their own in October.
The Month of October is Fire Prevention Month. On October 12, the department will host an open house. They are planning to have Millie the Sterling Police Department Comfort Dog, a trailer for training and a helicopter.
