Are you getting what your child needs for the new school year? You might be finding it hard to afford all of the school supplies you may need.
The Dixon School District has a program that could help. It is called Tools for School. During this event, you can come to their location and get some of the supplies you may need.
Dixon School District Superintendent Margo Empen says Tools for School will not get you all of the school supplies you may need. However, it would get you the basics so your child would start the new school year right.
Empen said they have several teachers who are dedicated to working with Tools for School.
She also pointed out that anyone could come and pick up supplies. In the past, you had to show a financial hardship. Empen says now anyone who needs some help can come to Tools for School.
The Tools for School will be held at the Dixon Elks Lodge on Thursday, August 7. The times are 9:00am-1:00 pm and 4-6:00 pm.
