The Dixon Municipal Band under the direction of Jon James is proud to announce its final concert of the Summer Sounds 2025 summer season, set for Thursday, August 7 at 7:30 PM at the Page Park Band Shell.
This finale promises an exciting evening of music that blends timeless classics, rousing marches, and theatrical flair. The program will open with “Globe and Eagle March,” setting a patriotic tone, followed by the lyrical and dramatic “The Hounds of Spring” by Alfred Reed.
The audience will then be treated to selections from “Symphonic Dances from Fiddler on the Roof”, bringing Broadway to the band shell. Other highlights include the high-energy “Blazing Fury March,” the soaring melodies of “Visions of Flight,” and the nostalgic charm of “Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue.”
The band will also perform the whirlwind “Instant Concert,” a medley of over 30 melodies in just a few minutes, and close with the spirited “Town Crier March.”
Admission is free, and community members of all ages are invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy a night of great music along the Rock River.
