A Day to remember for two members of the Dixon Police Department and their families occurred at the most recent Dixon City Council meeting. During this meeting, the two officers were sworn in to new positions within the department.
One of those was Ed Deets who was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Chief Ryan Bivins said Deets has been instrumental in their investigation division. He has also been a part of the Internet Crimes against Children Taskforce.
Being promoted from Sergeant to Deputy Chief of the Dixon Police Department was Aaron Simonton. Bivins said Simonton has been instrumental in many of the community and department initiatives. He said Simonton’s forward thinking is why he was promoted.
