The 2024 Little League Baseball World Series will begin on August 14th in Williamsport, PA. The Region Tournaments continue this week throughout the United States. Two of those Region Tournaments are in Whitestown, Indiana (Great Lakes Region, Midwest Region).
Hinsdale Little League from Hinsdale, Illinois, who won the state tournament on July 25th in Rock Falls, beat Kentucky 3-2 in extra innings on Monday night. They rallied from a 2-0 deficit to score two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning before scoring the winning win in the bottom of the 7th inning. Hinsdale will now play in the Great Lakes Region Championship game on Wednesday night. They will play the winner of the elimination game on Tuesday between Indiana and Kentucky. The championship game Wednesday night will begin at 6pm and will be nationally televised on ESPN 2.
Davenport Southeast Little League is competing in the Midwest Region and stayed in the tournament on Monday with a 6-4 win over Wisconsin. Davenport will continue play in the consolation bracket when they take on Minnesota on Tuesday morning at 9am.
The winners of both Region Tournaments will advance to the Little League World Series later this month.
