Is the city in violation of one of their own zoning laws? One Dixon Resident thinks they are.
During the most recent Dixon City Council meeting, George Belavics came before the council to hopefully begin a conversation. He said in his opinion, the outdoor shooting range is in violation but it is close to a residential area. He said in his opinion the shooting range should be indoors and not outdoors.
He said the city zoning speaks of the high restrictions near residential area. This includes odor, smoke and especially noise. He stated the shooting bothers him and his dogs.
City Manager Dan Langloss said to the council the city would like to not make a statement at this time. Langloss went on to say he would like to speak with the city attorney first.
