Do you enjoy boating on the Rock River? If you live along the Rock River in Dixon, you might have a boat slip or boathouse provided by the Dixon Park District. You also will be seeing a fee increase to have that privilege.
During the most recent Park District Board meeting, Executive Director Duane Long informed the board of an increase in the fee by $50. The reason for the increase, said Long is from the increase in taxes from the county.
The Park District has not raised its fee said Long. Long continued by saying the District would not be seeing any of the money from the tax increase. All of the money would be going to the state.
The district recently increased the number of boathouses from 7 to 8. However, even with the increase, they still had the $50 increase. Long said the boathouses and boat slips are so popular they have a waiting list.
